WHAT IS THE AREOLA + NIPPLE TATTOOING?

 

The Areola Tattoo is a restorative permanent tattoo that creates a hyper-realistic representation of the nipple areola complex through 3D shading and highlighting, recreating the texture and colours of the areola and nipple areas that are no longer there.

 

This is a service for anyone who is looking to bring back their Areola or Nipple following surgery, including breast cancer survivors post mastectomies, transgender, and non-binary clients who have had top surgery, and anyone else who may have received any type of breast surgery, offering an opportunity to reconnect with their body, and feel at home in their own skin.. The tattoo process is one of the last steps in the reconstruction journey. Your tattoo will be customized personally to you to ensure we achieve the natural looking results that you dream of.

HOW LONG DOES THE TATTOO LAST?

​

Areola tattoos are a permanent tattoo. You will experience a natural lightening during the healing process which is normal, the tattoos stay true to colour but soften into place. There will be some instances, however, where colours may fade to slightly different tones with the individual’s response to the pigments as they heal due to many factures such as skin types, life style and healing processes. Results vary with each client and to ensure the best healed results these tattoos are achieved over two to three appointments to build up realistic soft tones and details.

IS THE TATTOO PAINFUL?

​

Most often my experience with most of post surgery tattooing is that there has been a significant loss of feeling in the area due to the tissue removal and nerve damage. This area can normally be quite sensitive to tattoo and the loss of feeling will be beneficial to you if this is the case. Pain tolerance levels always vary from person to person and I will always ensure I do everything I can for you to remain comfortable for the tattoo.

WHEN CAN I BOOK?

​

To ensure the scar tissue has completely healed prior to treatment or invasive treatment, I request that you allow one full year to pass as advised by your surgeon. If the tattoo area has direct scar involvement this will allow for the scar maturation and breast settlement to take place. Areola tattoos should be the final step in the reconstruction process.

Reservation deposits are taken at the time of your booking to secure your appointment. The remaining will be paid on the day of your appointment.

 

Booking fees are non refundable. Appointments can be moved once with a minimum of 72 hours notice, changes within this time frame will require a new booking fee.
